Jerry Russell is "old school." From 1973 to 1989, Jerry raced a wide variety of cars all over the USA…wing & non-wing sprints, midgets, silver crown, and even stock cars. Not only did he race these cars, he built the cars he raced. In October of ’97 the first Eagle Motorsports chassis came off the jig. Eagle Chassis had proven itself and won the Knoxville Nationals…the most prestigious race in sprint car racing…in 1998, after only 10 months. Eagle Motorsports has captured the Knoxville Nationals 3 times since. Since it’s inception, nine years ago, Eagle Motorsports has claimed the All-Star Championship and the Knoxville Raceway Track Championship every year. 2001 was stellar year for Eagle; claiming all the big shows at Knoxville…the Nationals, the 360 Nationals, 1200lb Nationals, and yet another track championship. In 2002, Eagle became the World Track Record holder on the 1-mile track at Pikes Peak.

Jerry had a vision, he pursued it, and he’s still living it today, with high standards for quality and safety. He hasn’t forgotten his background. From his first back yard built, stick-welded car he and his father put together
in ‘73, to manufacturing cars for drivers such as Steve Kinser, Terry McCarl, and Brooke Tatnell, to drivers such as Ryan Newman, Kasey Kahne, and Tony Stewart, to having dealers nationwide and in Australia.

And in 2009 Jerry teamed up with Bill Mann (Owner of Performance Wholesale and Queensland Speedway Spares). Bill will be at the reins of Eagle Motorsports Inc. and his job is to concentrate on the actual day to day
running of the company, marketing, making sure product is available, delivered on time and the further expansion into the circle track markets.

Jerry will now be able to concentrate on R & D, future product design, the building of cars and to further expand into the 600 mini sprint market. Jerry will also be available to give technical advice on which he excels.

The mountain at Bathurst may be iconic, but the drivers say the challenge of Adelaide's street circuit is perhaps even greater and the taste of victory equally sweet.
